Another Way
There are many ways to get ‘there.’
There must be because I can envision getting ‘there’ while having fun.
When I try to get ‘there’ the way so many others are getting ‘somewhere’, I feel my energy draining away.
Their ‘somewhere’ can’t be my ‘there’ or I’d feel light and free to follow such a path.
Their ‘somewhere’ might be right for them, but for me, it seems unlikely.
I’m looking for a way that feels like I’m eating my favorite food or drinking my favorite drink or watching the sunset from a tropical island.
I’m searching perhaps for a way that no one has thought of yet.
I’m feeling my way onto a road that might never have been traveled for the purpose I’m intending.
What if my road, my path, was created by animals migrating to a far away land during a far away time?
Someone else might not think to choose a road whose origins stem back to beasts.
Personally, I like the beasts and trust their instincts more than some humans I know.
Personally, I’d rather follow a path tread by four legged creatures who feel compelled to walk but don’t know why.
If I feel the impulse to follow their impulse, maybe I’ll find my own path half way down the road.
Maybe I’ll see a train track leading in a new direction and my curiosity will pull me to a distant field painted with wild flowers.
While others are busy with things they feel are so important to do, I might be climbing a tree and discover from such a high vantage point that my ‘there’ is everywhere.
And while others still struggle to find their ‘somewhere,’ I wonder why they never seem to feel satisfied even when they get there.
