At Kumu Nalu, LLC and ColumbiaJane.com, it is my commitment to you that I will be respectful of the data you share with me and I would never sell your information to other companies or businesses for marketing purposes; trust and confidence are key to everything in my work. This Privacy Policy is a container that gives a clear shape to what my picture of online integrity looks like: when and why I collect your personal information, how it is used, and the limited conditions under which I might disclose it to others, as well as how I keep it secure.
What We Do with Your Information
When you purchase something from the website (products or services), as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address, telephone number and email address. When you browse the site, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system (this helps us make sure we create a web experience that is working great for all our users).
Email marketing (if applicable): With your permission, we may send you emails with regular content, program offerings, products for sale, and other information related to Columbia Jane, CJ McPhee, or Kumu Nalu, LLC. Please know that we are intentional about everything that is sent out and endeavor to deliver content that is appropriate for what you subscribed for and isn’t going to overpower your inbox.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s policies. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing cj@columbiajane.com.
Consent
When you provide us with personal information to reply to a message sent from our contact from, complete a transaction, verify your credit card, place an order, arrange for a delivery or exchange/return a purchase, we imply that you consent to our collecting it and using it for that specific reason only. If we ask for your personal information for a secondary reason, like marketing, we will either ask you directly for your expressed consent, or provide you with an opportunity to say no. If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent for us to contact you, for the continued collection, use or disclosure of your information, at anytime, by contacting me at cj@columbiajane.com.

Third Party Services & Payment Processors
Squarespace
Our site is hosted on Squarespace, Inc. (Squarespace). They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Secure passwords, SSL encryption, disk-based encryption, firewalls, and other measures are in place that helps them to protect your data. However, no company, including Squarespace, can fully eliminate security risks associated with the transmission of personal information through online transactions, and you do so at your own risk.
In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.
Squarespace uses third party payment processors to assist it in processing your personally identifiable payment information securely. Such third party processors’ use of your personal information is governed by their respective privacy policies which may or may not contain privacy protections as protective as this privacy policy. Payments for our products are currently processed and managed using the third party vendor PayPal. You can read their privacy policy here.
Squarespace uses the services of Peer1 Hosting for their website and for Squarespace managed websites. Personal information hosted by or through Squarespace is subject to Peer1 Hosting’s privacy policy which may or may not contain terms as protective as this privacy policy. Google Analytics
When someone visits www.columbiajane.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behavior patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
